What you will really be doing
🧠 Lead the technical direction of Aize’s core Web App, keeping the frontend architecture coherent, scalable, and maintainable.
🧑💻 Contribute hands-on in a shared React and TypeScript codebase, setting a high bar for quality through example.
🏗️ Define and evolve shared frontend patterns for routing, composition, and cross-cutting concerns so product teams can move independently without fragmenting the user experience.
🔍 Review designs and code with a strong focus on long-term product health, technical feasibility, and sustainability.
🤝 Work closely with the Software Development Manager, Product Manager, and Designers to shape plans and deliveries that balance product and technical needs.
📉 Actively manage technical debt, learn from incidents, and help the team improve how it builds and ships software over time.
How you will be doing this
Guiding architectural decisions through collaboration, clear reasoning, and practical trade-offs.
Working closely with product teams and other platform teams to align frontend, backend, and platform concerns.
Using strong testing and automation practices to enable continuous delivery and safe change.
Supporting engineers through mentoring, feedback, and constructive technical discussions.
Balancing speed, quality, and business impact when making technical decisions.
Who we think you are
An experienced software engineer who has built and operated complex, production-grade web applications.
Strong in modern frontend development, ideally with React and TypeScript, and comfortable taking a lead on frontend architecture.
Strong frontend expertise, combined with sufficient backend knowledge to work effectively in a microservice-based architecture and contribute across the stack when needed.
Comfortable working in cloud-based, containerised environments and collaborating across platform boundaries, and maintaining fairly complex GitLab CI Pipelines.
Pragmatic, product-focused, and confident making technical decisions in ambiguous problem spaces.
Someone who influences technical direction through collaboration, clarity, and leading by example.
The team
The Web App team is a platform team responsible for Aize’s shared web application, used by multiple product teams across the company. The team focuses on providing a coherent, scalable frontend foundation that enables others to build and deliver customer value efficiently.
This position will also take on the role of the Tech Lead for the Web App team. In this role, you’ll take responsibility for technical direction, architectural decisions, and overall technical quality, while still contributing directly in code. You’ll work closely with the Software Development Manager, Product Manager, Designers, and engineers across Aize to ensure the Web App evolves in a sustainable and consistent way.
