Staff Software Engineer (Tech Lead - Design System)
What you tell your friends you do
“I make sure every button, form, and flow in our product actually works together – and that the teams behind them do too”
What you will really be doing
🧩Lead the evolution of our design system from a component library to a governed product with clear standards, tooling, and measurable quality
🤖 Implement AI best-practices to make the design system AI-powered
⚛️ Work hands-on in React – building, refactoring, and improving components in both code and Figma
📐 Define and document guidelines, best practices, and ADRs that other teams can understand, trust, and implement
📊 Establish governance mechanisms and maturity reporting for accessibility, responsiveness, and design consistency across teams
🤝 Collaborate closely with other engineering teams to align on standards – building relationships that create buy-in rather than resistance
🌱 Provide technical direction, structure and mentoring to a strong team
How you will be doing this
Acting as a tech lead who can facilitate open technical discussions and guide collaborative decision making
Combining deep React knowledge with design system experience to make technically sound and scalable choices
Writing clear ADRs and technical documentation that explain not just what we change, but why
Evaluating existing solutions across teams and driving refactoring efforts based on clear technical and UX principles
Building trust across teams through clear communication and a collaborative mindset
Balancing hands-on coding with governance, support, and long-term architectural thinking
Team
You would be working with a cross-functional team of developers, designers and QA, providing the tools, standards and guidance that help product teams build consistent, high-quality user experiences. The team’s purpose is to create a strong shared foundation that provides accessibility, improves usability, speeds up delivery, and makes the product experience more cohesive across the platform.
Grounded, human, and unstoppable are the values that guide our day-to-day. If that aligns with how you like to work, we’d love to hear from you🚀

About Aize
We believe our product will connect experts across disciplines, domains and industries.
For decades, siloed information and lack of collaboration have hindered teams working in heavy-asset projects. Solving that is our main priority - but only the beginning.
We say we see things differently, but people rarely accept different if it doesn’t also mean better. So we have to show our clients that we can deliver better for them and that’s why we’re recruiting the best from all over the world to help us.
At Aize, we know what happens when you give the smartest of us the tools to succeed.
